Subject: MS Word crash on cut and paste
Content-Type: text/plain

Hi all,

I'm running SPSS 9.0 and today I ran into a problem when cutting and pasting output tables (Frequencies to be exact) into a MS Word document.

I pasted in about 18 pages worth of tables and each time i would go to print preview in Word, i'd freeze and have to reboot. After going through this routine many many times (10 times just wasn't enought to convince myself that it just wasn't going to work), i recalled that i have had the problem when pasting tables in word where each line would print twice. Now i hadn't run the fix it script for this particular problem on this table since strangely enough, it didn't have the double line problem. But since i had to try something else besides wearing out the cntrl/alt/del keys, i converted the tables to text then back to a table and it seems to have fixed the problem. Just pasting the tables into a clean document did not help matters.

What i want to find out is if there is something about my system (P300, 96 RAM, WIN 95, Office 97) that might be leading to these odd issues with cutting and pasting from SPSS to Word. Any reason to justify an upgrade?? :-).
