Bill...even though a very brief treatise on the subject you mention, you may want to look at Stevens, J. (1996). Applied multivariate statistics for the social sciences. (3rd Ed.).Mahwah, NJ: Lawrence Erlbaum., and specifically the section on alternative analyses for pretest-posttest designs (pp. 327-329).......................dale glaser

Can someone point me to a source that compares the costs and benefits of using an ANCOVA with pretest as covariate and post test as DV, versus using a repeated measures ANOVA with pretest as time one and post test as time 2? In either model my between subjects variable has three levels.
