Our local club, the Withlacoochee Watchers, saw 88 species on our Saturday
(4/23) fieldtrip within 25 miles of home, to the SW of Valdosta.
Highlights include adult male SCARLET TANAGER and ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK,
2 NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH, a singing BACHMAN'S SPARROW, a lone REDHEAD, 2
SOLITARY SANDPIPERs, 2 near-fledgling GREAT-HORNED OWLs, a COMMON LOON on
Grassy Pond, a pair of first-of-season MISSISSIPPI KITEs and a late
EASTERN PHOEBE.
