Hi,
Does anyone know where to find advice on which of the many multiple
comparison tests to use? When I was in school Scheffe's seemed to be the
recommended test most often (that WAS a long time ago!). Normally in my
job I help with SPSS software problems, not stats, but now I'm involved in
actually doing and writing the stats part of a study. I read in the SPSS
v. 10 manual that Bonferroni and Tukey's HSD are commonly used now. We
have 3 groups and in one table we have the group means of 11 variables
plus the results of Scheffe's test for each of the 11 vars. I'm wondering
if I should use Bonferroni and then, since it's 11 separate tests, lower
the alpha for each test to about .005.
Thanks
Sally
