Hi Folk, Had a great morning on Jekyll. . The beach has really grown and been sculptured. The Least Terns are down from Gene's 300 but there is lots of disturbance. Here are some of the other highlights of my rambles on Jekyll.

Anhinga"", Amphitheater pond, Watched as one adult feed young. the adult stuck a fish down the young neck as other young clamored around. "Brown Pelican" 20 South end JI, These birds are easy spooked. "Tricolored Heron" 2 nestling, Yes! Amphitheater pond I've been waiting for nearly a month for this. It was well worth it. "Snowy Egret" Lots of young still around the nests. Amphitheater. Pond" "Great Blue Heron", 1 fly over coming on the island" "Great Egret" Amphitheater pond still young on the nest "Green Heron" several fly overs" "Yellow-crowned Night-Heron 6 Amphitheater pond, 5 Adult 1 imm. "Black-crowned Night-Heron", 1 seen Amphitheater pond "White Ibis", ,1 J causeway flyover" "Wood Stork", 30 est. Amphitheater pond" "Black Vulture" Amphitheater pond 2 sitting near the WOST" "Turkey Vulture South end JI" "Osprey" 1 Amphitheater pond" "Whimbrel", 11 counted * US 17 southwest of J causeway" "Willet" 2 South end JI on Atlantic side "Sanderling", 10+ South end JI hard to tell they were disturbed" "Western Sandpiper", 1 South end JI Adult summer plumage" "Least Sandpiper", 12 South end JI" "Semipalmated Plover" 3 South end JI "Wilson's Plover", 5 South end JI, 2 Juveniles at tip, 1 adult female and 2 chicks just north of the board walk. Watching these birds all season, they are tough little birds. It is a pleasure to see them succeed. "Ring-billed Gull", 1 South end JI "Laughing Gull" South end JI" "Black Tern"," " 5 South end JI in various stages of molt "Caspian Tern" 1 South end JI disturbed by beach walker "Royal Tern", South end JI abundant with young juvs "Sandwich Tern" 1 South end JI "Common Tern", 3 South end JI, 2 imm 1 adult" "Least Tern", 89 South end JI counted from 3 directions "Black Skimmer" 7 South end JI "Chimney Swift" 2 South end JI" "Ruby-throated Hummingbird" 1 South end JI female at bird corner" "Belted Kingfisher 1 South end JI female flying "Great Crested Flycatcher"," "in several locations" "Gray Kingbird", 1 calling at shopping center" "Fish Crow", 35 South end JI" "Brown-headed Nuthatch" 1 Amphitheater pond heard "Barn Swallow" "most were in ones and twos several flying south, not the hugh flock of a couple of weeks ago.
