Subject:   Segmentation violation error

Hi group:

I've got a data step with a number of macros that generate appoximately 30,000 sas statements. I'm getting the following error:

Segmentation violation in routine 'DATASTEP'

and the data step terminates abnormally.

I've found that if I remove statements the error goes away, so it seems size related. Any idea what causes a "Segmentation violation?"

Thanks --Richard
