Joe, if you dreamed this up we've been drinking the same funny water.

IIRC, BASS was cranked out by someone named Steve Bass; hence the name. Naturally, he called his company Bass Institue.

SI was not amused.

What became of it I have no idea. I have sometimes wondered...
