Hi Carole:

To quote a repsonse to another e-mail on this list, may I suggest you "read the fine manual" (RTFM).

Asking the difference between an IF and a WHERE statement, then asking for a function to do num-to-char conversions and vice versa, and now the difference between two of the SAS Procs reflects an inquisitive mind, albeit a bit green w.r.t. SAS.

More importantly, however, it shows (to me) that you most likely have not even attempted to read any of the manuals (check out The Little SAS Book: A Primer) ... and that's sort of a No-No.

*You* make the first effort, *then* hit the List up for further elaborations/explanations.

P.S. Hint: Think not of "a" Proc Report or "a" Proc Tabulate ... rather, think of "a" Data Step or "a" Proc .... and "if" (not where) a Proc, then "what" Proc ...
