Hi, all!

Thanks, Dianne, for this post! I was also near my wits end with a "corrupted" database on our Unix/AIX box. I tried your suggestion, and got past the database update step with no problem. However, we are running V8, so this "bug" still lingers...

Is the file compressed? Is it SAS V 6.12? I have seen this error running on a compressed file. You need to specify OPTIONS Compress=Yes Reuse=Yes; AFAIK it is a 6.12 bug and should be fixed in V8e.
