Andrew,

I note Jim Ozier's comment to you regarding the likelihood of some fruiting shrubbery near the roadside location of the waxwing bodies. I was on a long walk 2 weeks ago and found 3 waxwings dead along a roadside within a hundred yards of each other. I heard them in the area and saw some flying from tree to tree. I suspected the same situation alluded to by Jim in his reply, but offhand didn't see any low-level habitat that would have served as a food source.
