Subject: Version 8.2 info on the web
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"
The long-awaited summary of new stuff in version 8.2 is finally available at
the SAS Institute web site
(http://www.sas.com/products/sassystem/release82/index.html). There's some
useful information there once you get past the marketspeak, such as:
"... Delivering a production SAS release for the Linux Red Hat operating
system. "
The web site makes it sound like it will be available by special request
rather than mass-shipped, but I wonder if this impression is correct.
Anybody heard anything definite?
"Existing SAS customers will be able to request Release 8.2 from this Web
site. Check this site in mid-March for the Request Software link!"
(Note for the skeptics -- no, they don't say mid-March of what year...)
