I recall from my days working at SAS that there were numerous reports of slower load times for Netscape - due to a bug in the Netscape VM. I believe that development at SAS has been wrestling with this problem for quite a while.

I would suggest you contact Tech Support at SAS about the current status.

It would not surprise me in the least if the same is still true. In which case your options are: - pressure Netscape to fix the bug in their VM - switch to IE - tell Netscape users they need to be patient while the applet loads :-)

Hello.

I've been playing with the Java graphics feature in V8.1 testing in both IE 5 and Netscape Communicator 4.7. It seems that the applet takes 75 seconds to load in Netscape whereas in IE it takes 25. This is after all cache has been cleaned, browser document comparison settings are set the same and both browsers are re-started.

Anyone run into similar performance problems with these applets? Did you find a fix?

Thanks,

Nick
