Well it's time for this old MVS/ISPF editor user to branch out. I've steadfastly refused to use the Enhanced Editor in lieu of the old trusted Program Editor because I felt I could not do without the numerical Prefix Area for commands such as C, CC, M, MM, R, RR, O, OO, A, B, etc. But, I do use Word and UltraEdit as my preferred word-processor and text editor, and I get along just fine there without the Prefix Area, so why not give Enhanced Editgor a fair shake.? I know about it's new features such as color highlighting and PROC/DATA step collapsing, and I like them a lot.

So here's my question. In Program Editor, when I submit a job, the editor is cleared and the next time I bring in a sas program via the Windows Exporer, the same Editor window is used. Sometimes I like this. With Enhanced Editor, every time I do this, I get a new, additional EE window. Sometimes this is good, sometimes not. Is there any way, like an option setting (I've looked and can't find it) that I can tell SAS to use the same EE window over and over again? I know how to tell it to clear the EE window after submitting, and I know how to APPEND into an existing EE window, but I want to be able to do this from the Windows Explorer and keep using the same single EE window over and over again. It's basically for my SUGI Workshops that I want to do this, not real life. Can do???

TIA.

Ray
