I have a query. I am doing principal component analysis using the covariance matrix. I notice that the dialog box "Factor Analysis: Extraction" suggests for the extraction "eigenvalues over 1 times the mean eigenvalue". I would like to know if this value is a standard value (just as eigenvalues over 1 is standard for the correlation matrix). If so, I I wonder if you have a reference to this ?
