Subject: ODS - multiple listing files
I'm running a series of programs that each generate several hundred PROC
LOGISTIC runs. I need to create two files - one with the entire output for
each proc, and one with three selected tables from each proc (a summary of
the output, basically).
I have tried a few different solutions. Sending the 3 summary tables to ODS
HTML is not working because the resultant HTML file is several megs in size,
and "takes too long to load". I am now trying ODS RTF with somewhat more
success, but we still have a problem of huge file sizes... also, the RTF
only comes out right in Word 97 (in Word 95/6.0, the titles are stripped
out). I couldn't find any documentation on whether the RTF is designed
specifically for Word 97 or later, but assume that this is the case.
I also tried sending the full output to the standard list file, saving the
three summary tables with ODS OUTPUT, using PROC PRINTTO to switch the list
file destination, and using a PROC PRINT with ODS templates to print the
summary tables to a different list file. This has a few drawbacks: 1. The
page numbers are not sequential. 2. When running multiple programs at
once, the ODS OUTPUT appeared to be confused and did not perform correctly.
Ideally I would like to be able to create two plain text files (like the
standard list output), one with the complete runs and one with my summary
tables. Is there an ODS destination other than ODS LISTING which prints
Thanks for any help,
