Matthew Zack, in private communication, pointed out that I goofed In my earlier post. The correct number of 18 way interactions is, as I said, 36!/18!*18!, but this is about 9 billion, not 4*10^41. That's what I get for trying to do a calculation in Excel!

Still, the point I made is correct. It is far too much to even look at, much less think about.
