Hi
I never heard of a special limit when reading a comma-delimited file. I
expect the usual limit of (approx) 32,000 variables applies.
One thing you have to know is that you have to use the FILE HANDLE command
to read more than 8,192 characters per line.

Subject: reading comma-delimited files into SPSS
Is there a limit on how many variables can be read into SPSS v9.0 if the
input file is a comma-delimited file? I have been told that SPSS does not
read in more than 500 variables from a comma-delimited file, but cannot find
documentation that verifies this.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
