Subject: Finding duplicate responses in a Variable

Hi all, I am trying to merge files, but I find that one of my files has duplicate responses in the ID variable (i.e. ID # 256 occurs twice) - when this simply must be an error. I am interested in looking at these duplicates on a case by case basis. I could do so with a Frequency table, but, with over 8000 cases, looking for "2's" in a long list of "1's" is too difficult for my eyes & time consuming. Does anyone know of a better way than running frequencies? I'd appreciate your help.

Jessica
