Alan Agresti's (1996) An Introduction to Categorical Data Analysis has a
pretty decent overview of Poisson regression as well as some SAS PROC GENMOD
examples in the back of the text. I found the treatment here to be fairly
accessible (much more so than in Agresti's [1990] Categorical Data
Analysis), though I like to think of myself as being only a partial idiot.
