Have you tried timex. ?
To quote TS 486, the colon may be substituted with any other non-numeric
character.

Is there an informat to read time data like:
094548
to indicate 9:45:48 am?
All I can find is the time6., which requires colons. I know there are many
semi-documented informats, does anyone know of one for this situation
before
I go kludging in colons?
Thanks,
Brad Goldman
