Subject: hierarchical poisson regression models
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

I need to know if SPSS has the capability to manage hierarchical Poisson regression analyses. I am told that in the newly released 11.0. there are methods to deal with "nesting" and I know that Poisson regression can be performed using the GENLOG procedure. However, I still need to know if I can do both simultaneously to develop a hierarchical Poisson regression model. I am praying that SPSS has some way for me to do this. So far I have been told by other SPSS users that I need STATA which I have looked into and was ready to invest in until I heard from my statistician on my dissertation committee that SPSS 11.0 did include some nesting features. Please help ASAP. I need to make decisions very soon. I am currently writing chapter 3 of my dissertation and need this info to proceed. I look forward to hearing from anyone who can further advise. Thanks in advance for a prompt response! Beth
