Anthony Is there a identification variable which indicates the pair number of each spouse? (eg Mr & Mrs Jones =1, Ms&Ms Smith =2, etc)

Greetings all,

I am looking to run analysis looking at two seperate groups of cases (patients and spouses) I want to look at any correlations bewteen a patients score on a measure in relation to a spouses rating on a seperate measure. I merged the 2 files and attempted to run correlations and the output was null because there were no constant variables. My brain is not computing what is happening. Any and all feedback is welcome.
