Anthony,
I had similar problems. Are you including the EXECUTE command in your
syntax?

Subject: transformations pending
This seems like such a simple problem, I don't know why its not working. I
used "compute" syntax to calculate a total measure score and SPSS is stating
that transformations are pending. I used the help function and found that I
need to have the button selected to transform data immediately, I have this
and still when I run the command, the new variable appears in the data, but
without any data under it. Then when I click on column it tells me "data
changes are not allowed" and then inputs the data leaving the cell I had
clicked on empty.
Any ideas why it will not just calculate?
Anthony
