Ganesh, based on your other post, it sounds like you are validating
clinical data. The necessary edit checks should be defined by the data
manager (maybe the statistician?). Greg's response summed it up. The
necessary edit checks are protocol-specific. But there are global checks
like date and time consistency, inclusion and exclusion criteria met, etc.
If no one has defined the edit checks in a data management plan (or
something like it), then you should consult the protocol.
