Michael,

I did not see it. The book cost a whopping $5.98. I bought it for $12 back in 1998 when I took my first SAS course (Epi 533).

I figure that this book is a quick read before other (presumably quite good) books. In particular, I like the short section on compilation and execution and the walk through on the construction of the PDV. A PDF link (http://statwebserver.stat.iastate.edu/SASOnlineDocV8/sasdoc/saspdf/lrcon/c21.pdf) is 27 pages long.

Variable attributes, statements rules, and procedures basics of FREQ or PRINT did not change so that this book will serve well for someone completely new to SAS.

For thread purposes the book is "SAS Language and Procedures: Introduction, Version 6, First Edition" and can be found here: http://www.sas.com/apps/pubscat/bookdetails.jsp?catid=1&pc=56074.

Regards,

Kevin
