Hello,

I am working with a large company personnel database that consists of several subsets of data, e.g., competence groups, hierarchical levels, etc.

I have several variables that I would like to normalize within each subset.  For example, I have the variable, salaries, and I would like to normalize salaries within each hierarchical level subset but still keep the salaries as one variable in the overall spreadsheet of all employees.  I am not a wiz at SPSS or programming, so I was wondering if there is an easy way to do this.
