Subject:   Including Negative Dollar Values as Minimum in Descriptive Statis tics (Newbie Question)
Content-Type:   text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

I have 7775 rows of data. One of my variables includes some negative dollar values (they are a type of revenue credits) which display in the data editor just as one would expect, as a numerical dollar value preceded by a minus sign. Nevertheless, when I run descriptive statistics on that variable and request Minimum and Maximum values, Mean, and Std. Dev., the Minimum is displayed in the output as a string of asterisks. Why is this and how do I display the actual minimum dollar amount if it is a negative dollar amount? TIA
