Perhaps I don't understand the question, in which case my answer will be useless, LOL.

If you don't like the interface, why not just run SAS.exe . Of course there are limitations to LE, but the V8 style interface is there if you want it instead of the dummy mode. Just do a find on SAS.EXE .
