Subject: SAS to the internet and reading HTML
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Greetings,

I have a list of references for an on-line public data base. I would like access this information and extract data from the page.

Is this possible to have SAS do it? For instance, I need to replace the XXX in the following URL: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/SNP/snp_ref.cgi?rs=XXX with my reference of interest. I assume that I could INPUT the HTML and either repeat the process or close the browser. Is this possible and worthwhile in SAS. I have the academic license so I assume most modules are licensed. I have been manually saving the page as text and INFILEing it.

I would appreciate any suggestion for FM's to read.

Thank you,

Kevin
