Subject: Text book for design
I wonder if the group can give me recommendations for a correlational and experimental design textbooks.
I will be teaching a methods course in the Fall for nursing doctoral (PhD) students.
All of the students are currently working in clinical oncology settings and are highly motivated
to develop their research skills and fairly sophisticated in the content areas. Although their practice sites are clinical, their outcomes tend to be behaviors and attitudes (self ratings of symptoms, coping strategies, depressions etc) as opposed to binary outcomes often seen in clinical trials designs. They will be using both experimental and correlations designs.
I had considered the wonder text on Clinical Trials by Piantadosi, but I would like a text that is more aligned with behavioral research ( psychology) and less with a medical model.
Thanks
Bill
