Thanks for the compliment, but it is the power users who really drive this list. Sometimes they make SPSS do things even we hadn't considered, and the list gives us a window into what a (biased, admittedly) sample of users knows and thinks about SPSS. We also learn from the newbie's about things that are confusing or show gaps in SPSS functionality.

So, our thanks to the whole group -- even the grouches.

And thanks to Richard Oliver, also of SPSS, for confirming that the "TRANSFORM" command that had worried me was a long-uncorrected editing mistake.

You guys may not realize just how good it feels to have somebody from 'inside' take the trouble to fill us in on this kind of thing, that it's hard for even an experienced user to be on top of.

You are much appreciated.
