Sorry for the cross-posting. I would like to alert you, your colleagues and students to three tenure track openings at Kent State University. I am starting my third year on the faculty and would be happy to discuss my positive experiences with any interested applicants.

POSITION OPENINGS

TENURE-TRACK ASSISTANT PROFESSOR. Pending final administrative approval, the Department of Psychology at Kent State University seeks applications for three tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant Professor level for the 2004-05 academic year. The successful applicants will be expected to maintain an active research program, secure extramural funds, direct theses and dissertations, and teach graduate and undergraduate courses. We are interested in applicants whose interests complement the Department's areas of research focus, including child and family studies, cognition and memory, health, and adult psychopathology. The Department houses a Psychological Clinic and an Applied Psychology Center and participates in the Summa Health System-Kent State University Center for the Treatment and Study of Traumatic Stress. SOCIAL PSYCHOLOGIST (1 position): Applicant should have a Ph.D. in social psychology. Preference is for a social cognitive psychologist, with research interests in health and/or personal relationships.

COGNITIVE PSYCHOLOGIST (1 position): Applicant should have a Ph.D. in cognitive psychology or cognitive science. Area of specialization is open with preference for applicants with interests in higher-level cognitive processes.

QUANTITATIVE PSYCHOLOGIST (1 position): Applicant should have a Ph.D. in psychology. Area of research specialization is open, with preference for applicants whose research interests complement those of the Department's areas of research focus. Preferred quantitative areas of expertise include logistic regression, HLM, multivariate methods, nonlinear modeling, and/or structural equation modeling.

Application deadline is November 1, 2003, but applications will be accepted until the positions are filled. Application materials, including a statement of research interests, curriculum vitae, copies of publications and other supporting materials, summaries of teaching evaluations, and three letters of recommendation, should be sent to Chair, (Quantitative, Cognitive, or Social) Search Committee, Department of Psychology, Kent State University, P.O.
