<DIV>Can anyone tell me if this distinctly black (navy blue?) and white, Little-blue-Heron-type bird is an immature Little Blue?</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>I was at the Bradley Unit on Lake Eufala yesterday (8/9) and got a clear view of the following bird:</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Little-Blue Heron size and shape</DIV>
<DIV>all white, except for the following marks: from a view of its back, while flying, had a distinct wide black (navy blue?) stripe at the edge of its tail, and a distinct wide black (navy blue?) stripe running across the central part of the top of each wing in flight</DIV>
<DIV>when it sat in a tree, it looked like an immature Little Blue--all white with spotted black (navy blue) patches with a plain white breast</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>I was struck by how distinct the black fieldmarks were in flight. I saw it fly across and land near the pond just southeast of the little pumping station, which is just a little ways from the parking lot--starting on the left side trail.</DIV>
