One solution is, for the first time you set up the word document, manually delete the extra page and then link the CGM file to the document as you insert it. That way, everytime you re-run your SAS program, all you have to do is refresh the document. Conveniently, word 97 even allowed users to 'automatically' update the link, so you didn't even have to go through the tedium of opening the document and refreshing it.

Word 2000 may be set up that way too, but I'm not too sure it is for CGMs.
