At around 6pm this evening I went out to the sod farm in Bostwick and finally added a new bird for this site, for me at least. Today there were 2 Buff-breasted Sandpipers in the turf along Gilbert Rd, near Hwy 83. Also one Pectoral Sandpiper, 100 or so Killdeer, 20 Horned Larks, and 2 Palm Warblers hopping about at the edge of the cotton on the north side of Gilbert Rd.
The farm is about a half mile north of downtown Bostwick, on the west side of Hwy 83, at Gilbert Rd. (Bostwick is about 20 miles southwest of Athens.)
