I use files with millions of cases and the show & go to case method is the
only way I have found to be practical.
cntrl down 'hangs' the program and it never gets there.

Subject: Ctrl+down-arrow to reach end of data file?
Dear Listers:
I thought this was working (I have SPSS v11.0.1) but now I find it does not
work on a file with 109156 cases.
Using syntax, SHOW N. gives me the number of cases, and I then can use Data
Editor's
Data menu | Go to Case... and type 109156.
But even if I put CACHE. EXE. and try Ctrl+down-arrow I do not get to the
last record.
Any other ideas?
David.

Hi Lars,
I experinced this problem also in demo of SPSS 11.5. It is very nasty.
As I remember the Ctrl+"down arrow" was going to end of file correctly.

Hi there,
I know this is not a script or syntax question but I hope it's ok if I ask
you
anyhow.
If you're using SPSS 11.5 how do you work around the problem that you can't
scroll
to the end of a file by pressing Ctrl+End? At least not if your file is
fairly large
(more than 100,000 records or so).
Any suggestion?
Regards,
Lars Johansson
