David is correct; I did have the great good fortune of seeing the Whooping Crane Class of 2003 make a perfect liftoff from Gordon County this morning. Weather was clear and cold with very nice flying conditions. If anyone is interested in seeing photos of the occasion, click on the address below.

Even as I type, the phone rings. I've just had a report from the Gordon County property owner who's had word that flying conditions were not only good, but perfect. The Whoopers overflew two Georgia stops, making a distance of 140 miles to their Marion County stopover. Very good news, as they had been running well behind last year's pace.
