******************** Program Representative Visits

A representative from Academic Programs International (API) will be at UGA on Wednesday, January 21st. Students can stop by Room 143 of the Tate Student Center between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to learn more about API programs.

A representative from Augusta State University will be at UGA on Thursday, January 22nd. Students can stop by Room 144 of the Tate Student Center between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. to learn more about Augusta State programs.

A representative from International Studies Abroad (ISA) will be at UGA on Friday, January 23rd. Students can stop by room 143 of the Tate Student Center between 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to learn more about ISA programs.

******************** Scholarship Opportunities

The IEW Study Abroad Scholarship is open to UGA undergraduate students who will be attending a University of Georgia sponsored study abroad or exchange program during summer 2004, fall 2004, AY 04-05 or spring 2005 (this does not apply to affiliate programs). There is a minimum GPA of 3.3 and you must not have studied abroad before. Other criteria are listed on the application, which can be downloaded from the OIE web site at <http://www.uga.edu/oie/sagensch.htm> or picked up in the Study Abroad Library in 203F Barrow Hall.

The Institute of International Education (IIE) Freeman-ASIA Award application periods are as follows: Summer 2004 Awards - application period opens on January 23, 2004. The application deadline is March 5, 2004; Fall 2004 and Academic Year 2004-2005 Awards - application period opens on February 9, 2004. The application deadline is April 2, 2004. ******************** Upcoming Deadlines

The deadline to submit an application for a UGA exchange program is February 15th. For more information about exchange programs, please visit our Web site <http://www.uga.edu/oie>.

The IAESTE application deadline has been extended until January 16, 2004 for paid internships worldwide (in engineering, sciences & architecture). Apply online at: <http://www.iaesteunitedstates.org>.

******************** International Teaching Recruitment Fair

The University of Northern Iowa (UNI) will be hosting the 28th annual UNI Overseas Recruiting Fair. The UNI Fair will be held February 20-22, 2004, in Waterloo, Iowa. More than 100 American international K-12 schools from around the globe attend the UNI Fair, the oldest event of its kind in the world. All registrants must be certified elementary or secondary educators, (or will secure certification prior to fall 2004). Teachers in all disciplines are needed. All interested candidates must contact the UNI office for registration materials. The registration deadline is February 2. Please visit <http://www.uni.edu/placement/overseas> for more details.

********************* Announcements from ISL

This week's Coffee Hour will be hosted by the World Ambassadors and Redeemer Presbyterian Church. It is located in the Memorial Hall Ballroom, from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Drop in and enjoy different foods each week from all around the world as you broaden your horizons by meeting people from different countries around the world. As with most International Student Life events, Coffee Hour is free.

If you are interested in helping international students prepare their taxes, contact the ISL office at 542-5867. Training in international tax will be given.

Volunteers are needed for the International Street Festival to be held Saturday, April 3, 2004 on College Avenue, Downtown Athens. The following committees still need members: Advertising, Performance, Organizations, and Fundraising. Contact ISL at 542-5867 if you are interested.
