I think the problems with measures of 'egocentricity' would be
a) As John W pointed out, that some people are habitually sarcastic
and/ro tongue in cheek - I doubt any program could catch this, and I bet
it is
a persistent trait (as John noted)
b) Habits of speech - e.g.
"I have a question. If I have a data set that I want to analyze, and
my boss told me I have to analyze it like xxxxxxxxxxxx, then what should
I do? Is my boss crazy?"
vs.
"Suppose you have a data set that you need to analyze, and your boss
told you that you neeed to do it this way xxxxxxxxxxxxx What would you
do?"
vs.
"Given a data set, and given a boss who is crazy, and wants xxxxxx,
what should one do?
The first is ego centered, the second other centered, and the third
neutral. All have the same question.
If there's a program that can deal with this, then *I* will humbly
apologize.

"But enough about me. Let's talk about you. What do you think of me?"
