Adding my two bits worth, about 100 sandhill cranes flew over our house about 15 minutes ago (5:30 p.m.) headed northwest at high altitude.

Dan Rosen alerted me to them as they circled over his house shortly before they reached us. Dan tells me that for the 25 years that he has lived in Conyers, the cranes have been flying over his area from the east, circling, and then heading out in a northwest direction. He didn't know what landmark they were using to make their change in direction, but many cranes may be following the South River from the Altamaha and Ogeechee Rivers.
