Although I, too, have heard of people having all sorts of grievances as regards the the Roxio Product (I personally have had no problem installing or using CD Creator 6 under XP), I don't think you can blame Roxio for what you describe.

What you describe is the expected behaviour when one uses packet writing software - be that Roxio's DirectCD or Nero's InCD. In either case, unless one 'converts' the CD appropriately (i.e to standard CD format) it can, in general, only be read on a CD writer, and probably only if the appropriate flavour (Roxio, Nero or whatever) of packet software is installed on the machine in question.

In common with most people I know, I don't use packet CD writing except for 'local' purposes; it 'sounds attractive', but comes with all sorts of problems.

Kind Regards,

John
