Hi,

 You should have a software to distribute the SAS software.  Post
installation with SMS (from Microsoft) could check if install looks
successfull.   Running some sample programs and checking results would be
sufficient to estimate if SAS is fonctionnal.  What more do you need ?

If you manually install the soft, then why not manually check some minimal
results ???
