Poul,

On your desktop, right click the "My Computer" icon and select the "Properties" item. You will get a pop-up dialog form with the title "System Properties." Click to the "Advanced" tab in the form, and then click the "Settings" button inside the "Performance" area. You will get another pop-up dialog form with the title "Performance Options". Under the "Visual Effects" tab, you can choose to boost your computer's performance by eliminating some or all of the visual effects in XP. I think the "Fade or slide menus into view" item is the one you mentioned in your question.

I hope you find this helpful.

Regards,

William Turner

Hi there, after an upgrade to XP I find that the 'file open' command of the first SAS menu item to perform in a peculiar slow way. The window opens gradually as if some 'sliding' effect is in action. All in all it takes 2 seconds for the menu to open. On other applications (MS ?) the same menu item opens immediately?

It is very annoying as it is an item that I use a lot.

Has anyone seen this too?

Regards

Poul R Sørensen
