In response to my own question:

> is there a listing of LUGs and RUGs somewhere?

The answer:

http://support.sas.com/usergroups/intro.html

... which I found via google as the sas.com site is as unnavigable as any commercial software vendor's.

However, there's nothing listed in the UK! Does anyone have any pointers for a lonely (and inexperienced) SAS programmer in London, UK?

tia

Robert
