Subject: Dawson Forest Walk on Saturday
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"
Sorry this is late, went directly out of town after the walk.
A total of 13 people participated in the walk at Dawson Forest, weather was a
little cloudy at times but otherwise great.
We had a total of 60 species, with 10 species of warblers.
The highlight was of course the blue-wings which we found at both the gate
and again at the bridge on Shoal Creek Road. Indigo buntings are everywhere (30
seen or heard) and we even had Wild Turkey crossing the road.
My thanks to all the participants and hope every one had a good time.
Highlights:
Wood Ducks (perching on the tree stumps)
Yellow billed cuckoo (1)
Eastern Wood Pewee
Acadian Flycatcher
