My daughter and I visited the Piedmont WLR this past week. It was my first
time to see the Red-cockaded Woodpeckers. She had seen them before. It was
such a trill. They are such darlings! The sounds they make as they fly
about are the cutest thing to hear. They anounce their presence constantly.
We also saw several Summer Tannagers; the Prairie Warbler, the Louisiana
Waterthrush, Pine Warbler, Palm Warbler, Northern Parula, Eastern Towhee and
some others.
