Subject: applying data list syntax to imported text file
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"

I would like to change the say my data are defined, via the data list command, using data that I imported from a text file.

I cannot figure out how to get to the syntax, edit it, and have it applied to the data file.

... any help would be much appreciated.

... thanks ... Richard
