Subject: Cox regression
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"

Hello, I am running a Cox regression predicting the rate of death using different covariates. I want to see if change in depression affects the rate. I am putting in the dep score at baseline and dep score right before death as predictors. Should I make the pre mortem depr score a Time Dependent variable? Cox regression gives an option of designating a variable as Time Dependent but I don't understand exactly what this does. It seems from what I've read in the manual that it just adds a current time to the variable. Would this then be appropriate for my analysis? Thanks a lot. Bozena Zdaniuk
