SAS friends

The annotate procedure is a powerful tool for enhancing graphs, but one particular issue troubles me. I have no problem adding markers/text/labels to standard GPLOT graphs when they need to be placed inside the axis system (using the data location system xsys en ysys is 2). However, adding elements outside the axis system becomes a trial and error exercise, in particular the determination of the position relative to one of the axis. Example: when adding custom thick marks to one of the axis how do I know the coordinates (in one of the other location systems) so that the tick marks will start exactly at the axis? The system does not allow me to use negative values in the data location system 2 to draw these tick marks away from the axis.

Sincerely

Hans Reitsma
