Subject: Only one paragraph today

10/13/2004 Spotted a single Double-crested Cormorant patrolling the big lake this noonish, and later watched as a female Scarlet Tanager ate in the Tupelos. The bird would crush the fruit and eat the skin and pulp, unlike all the thrushes, the Flickers, the Mockingbirds; they would all gobble the berries whole as fast as they could pick them from the twigs. Must be somewhat different digestive systems ?? Add Mourning Dove to the list of Black Tupelo addicted avian critters.
